Professor Xiumin Zhao of the CCLE has been awarded the 2024 Tohoku University-wide Educational Contribution Award

Professor Zhao Xiumin from the Center for Language and Cultural Education, who chairs the Academic Affairs Council’s Committee for Introductory Language Education and the Chinese Language Subcommittee, has been awarded the 2024 Tohoku University University-Wide Educational Contribution Award. The committee has advanced educational reforms in Chinese, which is the selective foreign language with the highest number of enrollees. By creating a unified program that combines videos, apps, and interactive dialogues, they have achieved standardized high-quality classes and improved student performance. This initiative has also received high praise in course evaluations. The committee’s efforts in organizational and collaborative educational practice and teaching management are meaningful. Their excellent efforts in educational improvement have been highly evaluated, deeming them worthy of the University-Wide Educational Contribution Award.
