Sachiko Nakamura worked as an instructor from 2005 to 2017, mainly teaching English speaking and listening classes, including public speaking and presentation courses. She also worked as a teacher trainer, writing teaching manuals and teaching pedagogical methods to other instructors. Her experiences made her interested in higher education, and she obtained her MA in TESOL in 2017. She has been teaching at numerous universities since then and began working at Tohoku University in 2021. She is also the co-author of the popular “English Hanon” speaking practice book series. At Tohoku University, she teaches EGAP (English for General Academic Purposes) courses and works to help create and update the materials for General Education English courses.
