I am from Nagano Prefecture and have lived in Tokyo, Kobe, and Kyoto. My field of expertise is Japanese language education. I research distinctive expressions and patterns found in spoken language, such as hesitation fillers like “well” and the repetition of words. For more details about my research, please refer to my research map page.

From 2010 to 2020, I worked at a university in Beijing, China. During that time, I encountered various challenges, including language barriers, differences in ideologies and customs, and political issues. However, with the support and encouragement of many people, I was able to overcome these difficulties and gain invaluable insights. Through these experiences, I developed a strong conviction that people can and must understand one another beyond national borders, and I became determined to contribute to this effort.

Through my educational and research activities at the Institute for Excellence in Higher Education, Center for Language and Culture Education at Tohoku University, I strive to promote mutual understanding and respect and to contribute to the creation of a better world. I am committed to doing my utmost to achieve this goal.
